Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has signed four Executive Orders, including the suspension of the five per cent Excise Tax on telecommunication services and the Import Tax Adjustment levy on certain vehicles.
The President also signed orders deferring the commencement of the Finance Act (Effective Date Variation) Order and The Customs, Excise Tariff (Variation) Amendment Order.
The decisions were made to address the negative impact of tax adjustments on businesses and households.
The President promised there would be no further tax raises without wide consultations within a coordinated fiscal policy framework. Channels TV reports.
