Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has granted the extension of the tenure of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Isah Jere up until May 29.
This follows a statement released in Abuja last Friday by the NIS Spokesman, Mr. Tony Akuneme, confirming Jere's continued stay in office and the approval of his extension by the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, in a formal letter, according to NAN's report.
Mr. Jere has since resumed his duties at the Service Headquarters according to Mr. Akuneme. This news comes after Jere's original tenure as CG NIS came to an end on April 24.
