Nigeria's film industry, Nollywood, has produced 280 films in the first quarter of 2023, with Lagos, Abuja, and Onitsha in the lead, according to the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB).
The board regulates the Nigerian film and video industry and censored the films produced, with 106 of them originating in Lagos.
The number of films produced has decreased from 340 in Q4 2022, down by approximately 18%. Nigeria is the world's second-largest movie industry after India's Bollywood and has an estimated annual output of 2,500 films.
