LAGOS, July 23, 2026 — The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service says it has extinguished a fire outbreak at Justrite Superstore, No. 116 Akowonjo Road, Jimoh Bus Stop, Egbeda-Akowonjo, Lagos.
According to a situation report signed by Controller General Margaret Adeseye, the call came in at 08:15 hrs and firefighters from the Abesan and Agege stations arrived at 08:28 hrs. The blaze affected the second floor of the commercial building, which houses the store’s electronics section.
The service said firefighters quickly deployed equipment to contain the fire, stop it from spreading to adjoining parts of the building, and protect lives, property, and the environment. No casualty was recorded.
The report added that the fire has been put out and recovery work is ongoing, while the cause appears to be linked to an alternative power source, possibly a solar inverter system.
