The Euro slipped against the US Dollar to trade around $1.13735 on Thursday afternoon at the time of writing, following the European Central Bank's (ECB) widely anticipated decision to hold its key interest rates steady.

The ECB's Governing Council left its primary interest benchmarks unchanged at its July 23, 2026 meeting. This follows a previous 25-basis-point interest rate increase executed during the central bank's June session.

• Deposit Facility Rate: Maintained firmly at 2.25%.
• Main Refiniting Operations: Held steady at 2.40%.
• Marginal Lending Facility: Kept at 2.65%.

The central bank's official monetary policy statement highlighted a highly cautious, data-dependent, meeting-by-meeting strategy. Policymakers explicitly refused to pre-commit to a definitive future path for interest rates due to lingering market uncertainties.

Market analysts point out that while the rate freeze was heavily expected by currency traders, the lack of an immediate hawkish signal stripped the Euro of short-term upward momentum. Concurrently, global macro conditions are providing a dual tailwind for the rival Greenback.
