UNITED STATES — After years of investigation, a breakthrough has been made in the murder case of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur. Duane “Keffe D” Davis, described as the group’s ringleader by authorities, has been arrested and charged with murder.
Davis provided the gun used in the drive-by shooting that killed Shakur and has long been known to investigators as one of four suspects identified early in the investigation. The arrest came after Davis’ own public comments revived the investigation, and hundreds of pages of transcripts were released providing a view into the first month of grand jury proceedings.
This pivotal moment in one of hip-hop’s most enduring mysteries has been heralded as a victory by Shakur’s sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur. But with the other direct conspirators or participants dead, and Davis out of options, he could be the last man standing among the individuals that conspired to kill Tupac.
