NIGERIA — A fire broke out in the early hours of Friday and gutted part of a two-story building at the Lagos State Government Staff Quarters in the Ogba area of the state. The incident reportedly occurred around 2:20 am at Flat 5, Block 21, a two-winged, three-storey building of 16 two- bedroom flats, located on Odunsanmi Street, off WEMPCO Road.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the fire originated from an electrical surge in the children’s room.
