NIGERIA — Trade Union Congress (TUC) has given the Nigerian federal government a two-week ultimatum to conclude talks regarding the removal of fuel subsidy, and to address grey areas before an agreement is reached on the implementation framework.
In the event no agreement is finalised by 19 August, the TUC has said it will embark on national protests.
The union has also called for quantifiable cuts in government spending, and harmonised palliatives that are verifiable and implemented within a set timeframe.
