Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Yevgeniy Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group mercenaries, and 35 of his commanders in Moscow on June 29.
The meeting occurred five days after Prigozhin initiated a failed mutiny to remove top military officials, whom he blamed for the botched invasion of Ukraine.
During the meeting, Putin listened to the commanders' explanations and provided options for future employment and combat applications. When asked about Prigozhin's whereabouts, Putin's spokesperson, Peskov, stated that he had no information.
Prigozhin later returned to Russia, as confirmed by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The purpose of his return was reportedly to reclaim seized money and weapons.
