A New Medical report has revealed that children who grow up in households that have dogs as pets have fewer respiratory illnesses than those who grow up without dogs.

The claim is made in a new study conducted by University Hospital in Finland and published in Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Result from the study shows that children having dogs at home were healthier (ie, had fewer respiratory tract symptoms or infections) than children with no dog contacts. Furthermore, children having dog contacts at home had less frequent otitis and tended to need fewer courses of antibiotics than children without such contacts. .. Pediatrics
