The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has demanded an immediate investigation into the discovery of a mass grave in West Darfur, Sudan containing at least 87 bodies of ethnic Masalit.
The UN has accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their allied militia of being responsible for the killings, which occurred last month following the assassination of the Governor of West Darfur.
The UN has strongly condemned the killings and called for those responsible to be held accountable. West Darfur remains one of the most conflict-ridden areas in Sudan with a long history of severe violence. CNN reports.
