UNITED STATES — A manhunt is currently underway as authorities scramble to apprehend the suspect responsible for a tragic mass shooting that unfolded during the "Brooklyn Day" block party in Baltimore.
The incident, which occurred in the southern part of the city, left two people dead and 28 others wounded, marking yet another appalling display of gun violence in the United States.
The Baltimore Police Department's acting commissioner, Richard Worley, addressed reporters at the scene, revealing that the attack took place just after 12:30 am on Sunday in the Brooklyn Homes area. All the victims, comprised of adults, including three in critical condition, were immediately rushed to area hospitals.
Shockingly, an 18-year-old woman lost her life at the scene, while a 20-year-old man succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Witnesses recounted hearing a barrage of 20 to 30 gunshots as hundreds of people gathered for the Brooklyn Day event. However, no arrests were made immediately following the shooting. The police are actively working on identifying the suspect and determining the motive behind this heinous act of violence.
