Pop star Britney Spears has claimed that a security guard hit her in the face as she attempted to get the attention of NBA star Victor Wembanyama outside a restaurant in Las Vegas. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday night, and Spears described it as a "traumatic experience".
She said that after tapping the 7ft 4in Wembanyama on the shoulder, she was "back handed" by the security guard and almost knocked to the ground.
Wembanyama told reporters that Spears had grabbed him from behind, and stated that his security guard had pushed her away. Spears claimed she had simply tapped him on the shoulder. The Las Vegas Police department has confirmed the incident was documented on a police report but no arrests or citations were issued.
Rising star Wembanyama, who was the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, told reporters that he did not see the incident in full and was not aware until hours later that the woman was Spears. The incident occurred outside the CATCH seafood restaurant at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas.
