On Friday, the Amazon Associates Team sent a notification to its affiliate partners of a change in policy regarding the creation of Native Shopping Ads and Banners for content. According to the announcement, starting July 25, 2023, affiliate partners will no longer be able to create Native Shopping Ads or Banners for their content. Furthermore, after August 25, 2023, existing placements will no longer work.
To prepare for this development, the Amazon Associates Team advises affiliate partners to remove Native Shopping Ads and Banners from their content as soon as possible. Instead, they should replace them with links to products, categories, or programs they recommend for their audience using SiteStripe.
In addition to affiliate partners worldwide, the announcement also affects affiliates in the European Union, as updates to the Associates Operating Agreement will be enforced starting July 7, 2023. One of the changes that will take place is the launch of the Amazon Influencer Program in Belgium. Participants in this program will earn Standard Commission Income as detailed in the corresponding Commission Income Statement.
Amazon Associates encourages affiliate partners to review the updated Associates Operating Agreement thoroughly to ensure compliance moving forward.
