Adidas faces a lawsuit from investors over the termination of its partnership with rapper Kanye West. The lawsuit, filed in US District Court in Oregon where Adidas' US headquarters is based, seeks class-action status on behalf of people who bought Adidas shares between 3 May 2018 and 21 February 2023.
It argues that executives at the German sportswear company didn't do enough to limit the damage to the Adidas brand resulting from association with West following his controversial comments. Adidas ended the Yeezy line, its jointly designed range with West, last October, in part due to the rapper's making a series of anti-Semitic outbursts.
