The Lagos State Police Commissioner, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has removed the Okokomaiko Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and three other policemen over allegations of extorting N100,000 from a mobile phone dealer in Alaba International market.
The victim was also reportedly harassed and intimidated by the officers. The DPO has been issued a query, while the other officers are to face an orderly room trial to determine their degree of involvement.
The victim claimed that he was forced to pay the sum of N100,000 for doing nothing after the officers searched him without a warrant and found nothing incriminating.
