Reports have emerged that Achraf Hakimi, a professional footballer who receives €1 million monthly, allegedly transferred all his assets to his mother's name ahead of his divorce proceedings.
According to Stades Football Club, "When the divorce took place and they agreed to share the assets, they realized Ashraf Hakimi had no assets and neither did the bank. Ashraf Hakimi had put all his fortune in his mother’s name a long time ago.” The footballer and his wife had tied the knot in 2020 and have two children. However, his wife filed for divorce in March 2023.
Twitter users have since reacted to the news. While some users have applauded his move, others have criticized it. One Twitter user wrote, "Achraf Hakimi has proved by actions to many of us that the woman you are dating or you married will never be your relative. Only your mother or sister is your relative." Another user joked that Achraf Hakimi and Cristiano Ronaldo are both "Mama's boys" who understand that "you slack, you lose your properties."
Achraf Hakimi's alleged move highlights the importance of being aware of the legal implications of transferring assets to avoid losses in the event of a divorce. While the transfer of assets to a trusted party, such as a parent or sibling, is a legal option, it is essential to ensure that the transfer is not done during the event of a divorce or after separation.
