INEC Reports Over 87 Million PVCs Collected Ahead of 2023 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that over 87 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected in preparation for the upcoming general elections.

Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna have the highest number of collected PVCs. INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu expressed concern over vote buying but is optimistic about the election process.

He stated that nonsensitive materials were distributed two months ago and sensitive materials are being delivered to local government areas.

Yakubu also reported that staff have been trained, and the commission will sanction anyone who compromises the process.
