NIGERIA — France sees Nigeria as the top destination for Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) in West Africa with an estimated 60% of FDIs coming into the region from France, according to the Consul General of France in Lagos, Ms Laurence Monmayrant.

The disclosure was made at the closing-gong ceremony for the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was held at the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

Monmayrant stressed the importance of the stock exchange as a catalyst for investments and expressed satisfaction with the chamber's progress, noting that it has over 400 members - including 100 French companies - actively fostering business ties between both countries.

Despite not being the top-of-mind choice for the Nigerian market, France has had significant achievements in the country's business and investment sector, Monmayrant stated.

She also attributed Nigeria's attractiveness to the more than $10bn invested by French companies in the country over the years.
