Nigeria: Two persons, Adama Mamuda and Ibrahim Shehu Ganye have been arraigned by the Police before Chief Magistrate Court in Warji Local Government area of Bauchi State over alleged involvement in witch-craft.
Arraigning the suspects the Prosecutor, Inspector Mato Albasu told the court that the two accused persons conspired and held one Hansatu Sani through spiritual powers using their membership of the dread witch craft in the last four years contrary to section 216 of the penal code
The two accused persons confessed to have committed the offence. Adama said "she took away the spirit of Hansatu and gave it to Ibrahim. Presently the spirit is under the custody of Ibrahim and the woman will not be revived until the two of them crossed her"
Ibrahim agreed that Adama gave him the spirit of Hansatu but vowed that he will not release her spirit because Adama paid debt with Hansatus spirit.
After long argument the duo agreed to release the victim. They crossed her in court and went to the bush and brought some traditional medicine to her. The presiding Magistrate ordered that the two accused persons be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter to 26th July for ruling
