Nigerian Workers begin 3-day warning strike

Organized labour yesterday set aside federal government's offer on minimum wage, directing all its affiliates to commence the planned strike next week.
The three-day warning strike scheduled to hold from today will be against the federal government, states, local governments and as well as the private sector who are bound by law to pay the minimum wage.

Addressing newsmen after its emergency National Executive Council (NEC) yesterday, President of the congress, Abdulwaheed Ibrahim Omar said the organized labour rejected in totality, the attempted decision by the federal government to make the new national minimum wage implementation applicable only to workers on grade level 01 to 06 in the federal service, maintaining that, anything short of N18, 000 will not be accepted by the congress
