After hitting new records yesterday on US-China summit optimism, US stocks are slipping today:
• Dow: Closed at 50,063.46 yesterday, up 0.8%. Today it’s down ∼0.86% to 49,630.70 mid-session.
• SP 500: Closed at 7,501.24, first close above 7,500 ever. Now down 1.01% to 7,425.34.
• Nasdaq: Closed at 26,635.22, a record high. Today down 1.45% to 26,249.36 on renewed tech weakness.
• Reason for the market slipping today:
Rising US Treasury yields hitting 1-year highs, and profit-taking after the AI rally. Nvidia is down ahead of earnings.
