UNITED STATES — The cost of "forever" stamps will increase from 63 to 66 cents starting Sunday, marking the fifth increase since the beginning of 2019.

The US Postal Service cited rising "operating expenses fueled by inflation" and the need for revenue as reasons for the price hike.

Other mail services, such as one-ounce letters and domestic postcards, will also see an increase in cost, while a new package shipping service, USPS Ground Advantage, will be launched.

Despite a net loss of $1 billion in the first quarter of 2021, the Postal Service reported an increase in revenue of $206 million.
