Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry summoned Swedish Ambassador, Petra Menander, to the Kingdom to condemn and reject the Qur’an burning incident that recently took place in Sweden.
The Kingdom's foreign ministry strongly condemned Salwan Momika setting fire to the holy book, with similar sentiment expressed in the wider Muslim and Arab world.
They also called on the Swedish government to stop all acts that directly contradict the promotion of tolerance and mutual respect necessary for relations between countries.
The executive committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held a meeting in Jeddah on Sunday to discuss the incident, strongly denouncing the burning of the Qur'an as a threat to global efforts to promote tolerance and moderation.
