Samsung Display, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, has filed a lawsuit against China's BOE Technology for infringing on five of its patents for displays used in mobile devices, including Apple's iPhone 12.
The lawsuit was filed in a US court in East Texas, seeking damages and an injunction to stop the import and sale of the affected displays.
BOE Technology has been narrowing the gap with Samsung Display in the OLED display market, overtaking LG Display as the No. 2 player last year.
The move comes after BOE Technology filed patent infringement lawsuits against Samsung Display and its Chinese corporation.
