In a bid to make digital transactions more convenient for Nigerians, Google has joined forces with Verve. As of today, Nigerians can use their Verve cards to make purchases on the Google Play Store.
Under this new relationship, Google will handle Verve transactions within Nigeria, facilitating transactions in naira that will be recognized as local transactions by Nigerian banking institutions.
Anthea Crawford, Head of Retail and Payment Partnerships at Google Play, said that the collaboration with Verve will expand Google Play access for more Nigerians.
Vincent Ogbunude, Managing Director of Verve International, added that the integration of Verve cards with the Google Play Store was a significant milestone that would contribute significantly towards achieving Verve's vision of promoting financial inclusion and bridging the digital divide.
