UNITED STATES — Multiple brush fires are burning in Riverside County, southeast of Los Angeles, threatening homes and prompting evacuation orders for nearly 1,000 residents.

Firefighters are fighting the blazes in sweltering heat and dry conditions, with temperatures reaching over triple digits in some areas.

In total, the fires have burned nearly 8,000 acres, with the largest, dubbed the Rabbit Fire, accounting for 7,600 acres.

As of Saturday night, it was only 5% contained. Other brush fires, including the Highland Fire, Reche Fire, and Gavilan Fire, have also broken out within 40 miles of each other.

Fire officials stated that the blazes were burning through dense, dry brush in rugged terrain, posing a significant challenge. While no injuries or property losses have been reported, authorities urge those in affected areas to remain vigilant and follow evacuation orders. Fox News reports.
