CANADA — A male suspect has been taken into custody after allegedly stabbing three people in a gender studies class at the University of Waterloo in Canada on Wednesday.
The victims were immediately transported to the hospital but no details about their injuries have been released as of yet. The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this time.
An eyewitness, Yusuf Kaymak, said that the attacker entered the classroom and asked the teacher if he was the professor before stabbing several students. Approximately 40 students were present in the classroom during the attack.
Following the incident, the University of Waterloo tweeted that they were supporting the police investigation and that all other classes will proceed as usual.
