After leading CNN for just over a year, CEO Chris Licht has departed from the news network, announced parent company Warner Bros. Discovery.
The announcement came as CNN experienced a rebellion among its staff and talent, with Licht's tenure marred by programming missteps and low ratings.
According to reports, Warner Bros. Discovery will conduct an internal and external search for CNN's next leader; in the meantime, an acting leadership team consisting of Amy Entelis, Virginia Moseley, Eric Sherling, and David Leavy will lead the network.
Leavy, recently appointed as the network's COO, was assigned to take over marketing, public relations, advertising sales, facilities, and other logistics, allowing Licht to focus on programming.
