Dangote Moves Up on the World Billionaires' List
According to Bloomberg Billionaire Index, a daily ranking of the world's 500 richest people, Nigerian business tycoon, Aliko Dangote remains the richest man in Africa, a position which he has maintained for twelve years in a row.
Aliko, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dangote Group, on Monday overtook four business magnates on the world billionaires' list after making 460 billion naira in a day. His net worth surpassed two Russians, one Chinese and an Indian on the list.
Recent increase in demand for Dangote Cement reportedly accounted for about 100 million dollars in profit, making him more richer and climbing up the billionaires' list.
Aliko Dangote still maintain over 50 percent majority of stake in his Cement company, after the company made the announcement of a significant share buyback two weeks ago.
