Former Twitter Employee Accuses Elon Musk of Ignoring Their Plight
Halli @iamharaldur, a former Twitter employee, has taken to the social media platform to call out current CEO, Elon Musk. In a series of tweets, Halli alleges that their access to their work computer was cut 9 days ago along with around 200 other Twitter employees.
Despite reaching out to Musk and the company's head of HR, Halli claims to have received no response. The former employee also called on former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, and investors Sequoia and a16z, to help address the issue.
In response to Halli's tweets, Musk asked what work they had been doing. Halli replied that they would need written permission to break confidentiality and answer that question publicly.
The incident has garnered significant attention on Twitter, with Halli's initial tweet receiving over 17 million views and over 12 thousand retweets as of writing.
Thousands of users have also reacted and commented. Some criticized the ex employee for coming out on Twitter, while some supported the action.
This is not the first time Twitter has faced scrutiny for its treatment of employees. Last year, the company was accused of retaliating against employees who raised concerns about the company's handling of hate speech and misinformation.
As of yet, Twitter has not issued a statement on Halli's claims. However, this incident raises questions about the company's commitment to its employees and the treatment of those who have been acquired through mergers and acquisitions.
It remains to be seen whether Musk or any other Twitter executives will respond to Halli's tweets and address their concerns.
