U.S. museum officials return stolen Benin cultural artworks to their original home in Nigeria...

Thirty Benin sculptures and cultural artifacts that had been displayed in some museums in the United States have been returned by officials of the museums to their original home in Nigeria on October 11, 2022.

The cultural artworks known as the Benin Bronze Artifacts were stolen by the British colonial army during the 1897 raid of Benin Kingdom located in present-day Edo State in Southern part of Nigeria.

More than three thousands of these artifacts are in public and private collections worldwide.
