Ghanaian president John Atta is dead - NewsBlist

President John Atta Mills died in the early hours of today. Reuters reports that a statement from Ghana President John Atta-Mills' office confirms that the leader has passed away.
The statement read : "It is with a heavy heart...that we announce the sudden and untimely death ofthe president of the Republic of Ghana."
BBC Africa confirmed the announcement and reported that Atta Mills died in a hospital in Accra.
Atta Mills became president of Ghana in 2009 after losing twice. He previously served as vice president. The cause of his death is still sketchy...but he has been ill for while.
