The Guatemalan seismology institute has reported an earthquake of 5.7 magnitude in southern Mexico's Chiapas state on Sunday, but there were no injuries or damage,
The earthquake occurred at 6:22 am (1222 GMT) at a depth of 35 kilometers (21 miles), and was located 28 kilometers (17 miles) south-southwest of Suchiate, Mexico, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake was felt in Guatemala's Quetzaltenango and San Marcos provinces and no injuries or damage were reported, Guatemalan emergency
management officials said.
